Eid

Today is Eid al Fitr, the Festival of the Fast Breaking after the month of Ramadan. Celebrations are marked by gunfire, lighting “fireworks,” and igniting dynamite. Now why on earth a country that has seen 15 years of civil war and suffers sectarian clashes on the regular blows up more stuff for a perfectly happy holiday, I will never understand.
