I've learned that Filipina maids in this city are a status symbol. They are the most coveted (due to widely held beliefs about their work ethic and demeanor), which means they are the most expensive. Is that supposed to make me feel better?
I happen to live in one of the wealthiest areas of the city while I focus on language school full-time. So you better believe there are Filipina maids GALORE in my neighborhood.
My ethnicity would NOT have been an issue in many nations in the Middle East. But He led me here, that's for sure. This is where I just have to laugh. Of all COUNTRIES in the Middle East...Of all CITIES in that country...Of all NEIGHBORHOODS in that city...He sent me here. Alrighty then.
