I sang with the praise band at our Commissioning Service yesterday. And we sang this song called "Hosanna." I'd never heard this song before, but I like it a lot.
"Hosanna" can be translated as "Save us!" or "Save now!" Apparently, people would say this upon the arrival of a new leader they expected to bring about change.
You can only imagine what it was like for me to look out into the auditorium and see 150+ of my friends offering this song of prayer to God. Especially after going through seven weeks of training and preparation for His service on the field. What an appropriate prayer to send us off! I seriously thought I was gonna lose it. Thankfully, I did not. :)
