Whole Lotta Lovin'

You should see me in my car, sitting (yes, sitting..) in 495 N rush hour traffic, singin' this song like it's nobody's business.

"Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
In its fullness over me
Underneath me, all around me
Is the current of Thy love
Leading onward, leading homeward
To Thy glorious rest above

Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus
Spread His praise from shore to shore!
How He loveth, ever loveth
Changeth never, ever more
How He watches o'er His loved ones
Died to call them all His own
How for them He intercedeth
Watcheth o'er them from the throne

Bridge:
Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus
'Tis a heav'n of heavens to me!
And it lifts me up to glory
For it lifts me up to Thee"

I've been reading through David's Greatest Hits (aka the Book of Psalms in the Old Testament), in which the writer repeatedly praises God for His "steadfast love." How true is this!

There is simply nothing better than knowing Jesus. Nobody in this world could ever love you more. It's just not possible. Nobody in this world could ever give you more than what He offered at the cross: a means of reconciling messed up, sinful, rebellious men and women to an unfathomably holy and beautiful God.

Despite my unmet desires and discontent feelings, I take comfort in knowing that God has already given me more than I could ever ask for or imagine in Christ. As a preacher once summarized, "It is enough that thy soul be saved from hell." So much more than we deserve, actually! I am tightly wrapped in this blanket of truth. The vast, unmeasured, boundless, and free love of Jesus truly is a heav'n of heavens to me!
